Reverend Lydia Trettis, an experienced Interfaith Minister, creates distinctive ceremonies for individuals that focus on celebrating life with honour and respect. Together with the family, she helps in the creation of a ceremony that is personal and appropriate for the needs of the deceased and the community of mourners.
The Interfaith Funeral and Memorial service has several purposes: First of all to celebrate the life and passing of the deceased. The service also helps to acknowledge the release the soul of the deceased on to the next part of their journey. It gives the mourners to remember and honour the deceased in a service with others. An Interfaith service aims to help the mourners heal and find comfort from the words and feelings shared. We will recognize and honour the mystery of life passage. The service can include favorite songs or hymns, prayers, poems or readings, quite time and even sharing of memories from the congregation. The service will be designed to honour the deceased, their family and their friends.
Included in preparing the service are:
- Initial Phone Call
- Meeting with family or person responsible for organising the service
- Meeting via telephone or email to review service and make any necessary
changes followed by the preparation of detailed service outline
- Guidance to person writing the eulogy, if needed
- Consultation to choose the relevant words, music and ritual elements for the
service. We will ensure the service meets the needs and wishes of both the deceased and the mourners and is in keeping with the ambience of the chosen venue.
- Whether the ceremony is going to be traditional or created in full by the
family, Lydia can assist in shaping the service.
- Meeting via telephone or email to review the service and make any necessary
changes. An order of service will then be prepared.
- Performance of the blessing
